Severe Thunderstorm Watch Monday Morning

There is an enhanced (3 out of 5) risk of severe thunderstorms for San Antonio on Monday until 4 P.M. The greatest risks will be large hail up to 3 inches and damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph with an isolated tornado also possible. Beginning at 11 A.M. a line of thunderstorms will form along a cold front in southwest Texas along a cold front and moving northeast toward San Antonio. At 10:48 A.M. there was a severe thunderstorm near Pearsall with 2 inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts moving northeast at 20 mph and a severe thunderstorm near Concan with half dollar size hail and 60 mph wind gusts also moving northeast at 20 mph. Plan to take shelter Monday afternoon until 8 P.M. and monitor alerts on WeatherWiseSA in case severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings are issued.
